Stan was a keen bowler with the Olney Bowls club. When he died in 2005 the family funded a new club competition in his memory. This competition has been run every year since.

During Stan's time with the bowls club Joan would help prepare and serve the refreshment breaks during the club matches. After Stan's death Joan continued to serve the refreshments for a number of years until old age finally caught up with her.

As a fitting tribute to both Stan & Joan's contribution to the Olney Bowls club it has been agreed that the competition will now be known as the Stan & Joan Eade cup and will continue to be run yearly. The family have funded the cup to be re-engraved.

This year the cup competition was run on the 28th May with over 30 members competing. Unfortunately because of Covid regulations there were no interval refreshments but hopefully next year we can toast Stan & Joan's memory with a cup of tea and a piece of cake.
